Most guys weren’t really taught how to take care of their skin, so they think it’s a “woman’s” thing. But I’ll let you in on a secret….women really like nice looking skin on a guy. So if you’re out to impress a lady or significant other 😉 then I have the solution: basic skin care for men.
It doesn’t have to take a lot of time. At spas, we do what we call the busy girl facial (because it’s mostly women at our spas), but this can be taylored for men as well. It can take as little as 2 minutes in the morning and at night. Not too much time if it’s going to make you look great!
First, you need to decide which skin care to use. We have 2 types: Skin Strateges for men, and Skinlogics for everyone (not just women). Basically, some men won’t use something unless it’s in a manly package, so BC put skin care in a package just for guys. If you’re one of those guys, then go with the Skin Strategies, otherwise you can get age specific skin care in the Skinlogics line. The Skin Strategies has a combination scrub and cleanser. The Skinlogics has a separate scrub and cleanser, and also has a toner, and I’ll explain a little more about that in a minute. And each line has a moisturizer.
The trick is to keep your scrub and cleanser (or combined scrub/cleanser) in the shower. Or, just put a little of both in your hand right before you step in the shower. That way you can scrub and wash your face pretty quickly while you’re cleaning the rest of you. When you get out of the shower, if you’re using Skinlogics you use a cotton swab to put a little (don’t use a lot) of toner all over your face. Toner actually regulates the PH of your skin and closes the pores so you’ll get less acne. Then put a little (a pea size amount) moisturizer on. That’s it! You’re done!
If you do this once in the morning and once at night, you’re skin will start to look better after a couple of weeks (Rome wasn’t built in a day you know). Remember that your skin is used to soap and water (not good for you), so it’s probably overproducing oil right now. So, you might continue to have a little acne while your skin is adjusting to the new program.
